Saying Hello To A New Health Resource

HealthOne of the hallmarks of cosmetic dentist Dr. Carol Ford’s practice over the years is promoting whole-person health and wellness. With that in mind, in December the practice will be saying goodbye to office manager and treatment coordinator Lisa Collier, who is leaving to launch her personal training business full-time.

We caught up with Lisa recently and asked her a few questions about the transition.

What have you enjoyed about working for Dr. Ford?

Lisa: I have enjoyed working with a team of professional women who support each other like family. This is also how we treat our patients at Dr. Ford’s, and I am happy to have had an opportunity to be a part of it!

What differentiates Dr. Ford and her team from other local cosmetic dentists?

Lisa: Dr. Ford has amazing compassion for her patients and her team. It’s real and contagious!

Why have you decided to transition to working full-time on your personal training business?

Lisa: I opened Her Personal Training studio 18 months ago and have been building up the business slowly while continuing to work full-time with Dr. Ford. Now, I have made the decision to take a leap of faith and go “all in” with my business.

What makes your business unique?

Lisa: I train women exclusively in a private and welcoming environment. I design fitness programs for women to improve full-body health, focusing on goals such as building muscle for strength, cardiovascular conditioning, lowering body fat to lower the risk of diabetes and other systemic conditions, and of course weight loss.

How have your work experiences with Dr. Ford influenced your approach to running your own small business?

Lisa: I have learned a great deal from Dr. Ford. She sincerely cares about her patients and connecting with them. Dr Ford has inspired me to take what I have learned and personalize it in my own business.

Do you have anything else you’d like to say?

Lisa: It has been a great ride and I will miss everyone!

Dr. Ford noted that Lisa was with the practice from 2005 to 2013, then returned last year to provide additional support.

“Lisa has been an integral part of the team,” Dr. Ford noted. “She helped me set up systems and hire new people and has managed the team members in such a way to create a very personable and organized operation.

“We were very grateful that she considered putting her business on hold to help our practice for a year,” Dr. Ford concluded. “Lisa is a dynamic leader and a professional.  She deserves to follow her dreams.”
